BYOB Tuning
The devices of Charles Altmann are a wonderful playground for passionate do-it-yourself projects. For the not-so-courageous I can offer various tuning options for BYOB devices. By changing some components, unexpected performance may be achieved. All tuning offers are reversible. If you are not completely satisfied I will downgrade your device to the original state and refund your money!

Coupling Capacitor
A coupling capacitor is directly part of the signal path and therefore, in every respect, decisive for the sound. Usually I use the Jantzen Superior Z-Cap, which offers excellent value for money. It gives the Altmann devices a level of spatial power that is unconvincing in the original state. For a nice overview of popular audio capacitors you might want to visit Humble Homemade Hifi

DAC Output Stage
Five become one. And less is more after all. In the original Attraction DAC, five opamps are busy amplifying the output signal to line level after the digital-analog converter. One Burson Opamp is also perfectly suitable for that. And you even get a better output impedance as well. This kind of tuning propels the DAC to the 5,000 euro league.

DACT Audio Attenuator
No idea why this works so well... the discussion about attenuators has actually been going on for a while now. Apparently, the Danish must do something right about it. The promise: more detail and more music. And an attenuator that does not provoke the neighbors when set at an eight o'clock position!

The list may be continued: Better buffer caps! Source selection switch for the amp! Better voltage regulator for the DAC! And everything for which you see potential for improvement!
